Sheriff’s Office Seeks Shelter Cove Thieves

Operating in the middle of the night, two men broke into more than 25 storage lockers at the Point Delgada Mini Storage in Shelter Cove last Wednesday, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office reported.

While “the amount of property [taken] has yet to be determined, it has been confirmed that numerous firearms were stolen” in the burglary, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Video surveillance footage shows that the suspects entered the business at 12:45 a.m. and departed nearly two hours later. When law enforcement was notified of the theft the following morning, a community service officer along with an identification technician, both of whom specialize in crime scene processing, assisted deputies with evidence collection.

“This investigation is in the preliminary stages and deputies are following up on multiple leads,” the press release added.

Anyone recognizing the suspects or their vehicle is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 445-7251 or 923-2761.
